• Passing the Time During Recovery

After going to see the chiropractors in Concord CA, I was left with a lot of time on my hands. I had a procedure that required a week of healing time, so I took the week off of work to heal. I was sitting at home, watching television and becoming bored out of my mind. All of the television shows started to run together and all seemed like they had the same plot. I looked in my closet for a game or something to pass the time, and found a large ball of yarn and a crochet needle.

I bought the yarn and needle long ago because I wanted to make a blanket, but I never got around to it. Since I had nothing else to do, I figured that my period of healing was as good of a time as any to start on the blanket. I made an initial chain as long as I wanted the blanket to be, and then started putting rows of loops on top of it. Using the yarn and crochet needle again after all of those years felt as easy as riding a bicycle. Some hours later, the blanket was done and I wrapped it around myself and took a nap.

After waking up from my nap, I ate some food and was left without anything else to do again. I had some more yarn in the closet, so I started working on some scarves and hats. Until that point, I had never made a hat from crocheting, but it was pretty easy to figure out just by thinking about how the hat would look and which way the yarn should wrap around my head. Given how fast I can make items by crocheting, I could probably start making enough items to sell to other people.
